Medix Hospital opens new structural-heart center

The new wing at Medix Hospital brings together interventional cardiologists, imaging specialists, and cardiac surgeons under one roof. Patients who once needed open-heart surgery for valve disease can now be treated through a small catheter, often going home within a day or two.

“This is care that used to mean weeks of recovery,” said Dr. Elena Marquez, who directs the center. “Now many patients are back to their lives by the weekend.”
